All our garments are made with emphasis on subtle detail and quality using traditional knitting machine, owing to the imperfections that arises from the intensive hand done process that makes each piece one of a kind. Our knits can last a lifetime and maybe even be passed down through generations. Here are a number of tips to help ensure your knits live a healthy life.
How to wash
Before washing, keep your knits in a separate basket to make sure they don’t get included with your mixed loads of laundry.
We suggest hand-washing your knit pieces in cold water with a gentle, natural soap.
Submerge your knits in the water, rub any deep stains, and remove quickly. Then, roll the sweater in a clean towel to absorb excess water before laying flat to dry. Knits are a delicate textile that easily loses its shape, it is important to dry in flat, and handle carefully while washing.
We do not advice dry cleaning as the chemicals can damage and weaken yarn.
How to preserve
Steam Ironing could be the key to caring for your knitwear. It smooths down all the fibres that have been given a good ruffle after washing. Turn the garment inside out and use the low wool setting on your iron, with plenty of steam.
How to store
We suggest to gently fold and store knitted garments in drawers instead of hanging them which results in fabric stretching, consequently misshaping. Before you retire your knitwear for the warmer months, make sure it is clean, pressed and folded neatly.
